Activation of NF-kappa B by physical and chemical factors such as ionizing radiation and cytokines is a stress response of cells, which can provide beneficial protection to cells and increase their stress tolerance. The protective mechanism of NF-kappaB is related to the transcriptional expression of the “immediate gene” in the stress response it activates, and it may also be related to the upregulation of some protective protein genes by NF-kappaB. The gene therapy of IκBα or application of NF-κB functional blockers such as protease inhibitors to inhibit NF κB activity can increase the sensitivity of cells to ionizing radiation and TNF, and thus can increase the traditional anti-tumor, Anti-inflammatory and infectious treatment
