一、绪言由于IBM 370系列的发表,而进入三代半的计算机系统,在迎接七十年代后半期之际,将进入第四代。第四代的体系结构是什么样子,现在还不能确切地说出来。但前一代的特点,其体系结构的基本概念,以及大部分硬件技术,是早在六十年代前半期就已经提出来了。由此看来,计算机下一步的进展,也将根据现有技术和思想中新的苗头,对当前的硬件技术、软件技术和社会要求,进行最有成效的调整综合,循序渐进地发展。这就是说,正当进入第四代的今天,总结七十年代前半期体系结构的进步,探讨今后发展的方向,是极为重要的。
I. INTRODUCTION Since the publication of the IBM 370 series, computer systems that have entered the third and the fifth half of the century will enter the fourth generation in the second half of the seventies. Fourth-generation architecture is what it looks like, it still can not say it exactly. However, the characteristics of the previous generation, the basic concepts of its architecture, and most of the hardware technologies were put forward as early as the first half of the 1960s. Seen in this light, the next step in the progress of computers will also be to make the most effective adjustments and gradual development of the current hardware technology, software technology and social requirements based on the new signs in the existing technologies and ideas. This means that just as we enter the fourth generation today, it is extremely important to sum up the progress of the architecture in the first half of the 1970s and explore the direction for future development.
