经过连续三年对40个品种的耐寒性研究和359个品种的耐寒性鉴定发现:水稻品种间发芽率之差异随试验温度的降低而增大,发芽、出苗期耐低温性能与适温发芽势具有高度的一致性。说明适温发芽势是一种具有重要应用价值的生理特性,它为遗传性所决定,在系统发育中所形成。在重复试验中一再证明用适温发芽势预测早直播田间成苗率是可靠的。试验结果表明,就发芽出苗期耐寒性而言,我省多数品种优于日本品种,而就孕穗期耐寒性而言,部分日本品种好于我省品种;足见耐寒性与适应性分不开,人工选择与自然选择分不开。分析认为:水稻生育的芽期与苗期、苗期与灌浆期的耐寒性存在极显著的正相关关系。
