Izu’s Dancing Girl was released in 1926 as an early masterpiece by Kawabata and describes the story of a high school student encountering a dancing girl when traveling alone in Izu. With reference to the functional theory of honorifics and the internal and external consciousness of Japanese culture, this paper analyzes the relationship between “inner ” and “outer ” in the novels, And “foreign ” conversion. The results show that there are internal and external relations between Japanese people and their contacts, and its form is reflected in the use of honorifics. At the same time as conditions change internal and external relations will also be transformed.
