In the past decade, the total volume of trade between Mongolia and the Soviet Union has tripled. Mongolia imports 300 to 400 small horsepower diesel generators each year from the Soviet Union, which is an important guarantee for rural energy in Mongolia. Nowadays, the electrification of the residential neighborhoods and most of the production teams in the state-run farms and farming and pastoral cooperatives has been achieved. There are already washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, radios, television sets and other household appliances in the homes of farmers and herdsmen, which make up a significant share of the Soviet exports. Mongolia purchased all kinds of industrial necessities such as machine tools, motors, cables, equipment, tools, chemical products, etc. from the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union supplies hundreds of trucks, cars and buses to Mongolia each year.
