Objective To investigate the positive rate of total IgE in some allergic diseases and suspected allergic diseases and the differences in the positive rates of sex between men and women in adults and children (aged <14 years) with the above diseases. Methods A total of 139 inpatients and outpatients with allergic and allergic manifestations (with no parasitic infection) were selected for total IgE levels from March to August 2013. 63 cases of respiratory diseases, 19 cases of digestive diseases, 12 cases of urinary system diseases, 21 cases of allergic purpura, eczema, urticaria and other skin diseases in 7 cases, 2 cases of autoimmune diseases. The total IgE assay is near-infrared particle immunization (NIPIA) scattering rate method. Total IgE content> 100IU / ml (reference range 0 ~ 100IU / ml) as positive. Results The positive rates of total IgE in various diseases were: respiratory system 50.8%, digestive system 21.0%, urinary system 66.7% and allergic purpura 52.3%. Eczema, urticaria and other skin diseases 42.9%, autoimmune diseases 50.0%. Of the 88 males, 53 were positive and 21 were females, and the positive rate of total IgE was statistically significant between men and women. 31 cases were positive in 51 cases of adults and 43 cases were positive in 88 cases of children, the positive rate of total IgE between adults and children was not statistically significant. Conclusion The positive rate of total IgE has nothing to do with the age of the patients and gender, men than women. Total IgE is highly expressed not only in allergic diseases but also in patients with suspected allergic diseases.
