报道了掺铒光纤放大器中降低掺铒光纤(EDF)与单模光纤(SMF)接续损耗的一种新方法.采用在芯区直径较小的掺铒光纤端部拉锥的方法,使得掺铒光纤中的传输模场在锥形区域内扩散,从而与单模光纤中直径较大的本征模场良好匹配,实现低损耗接续.初步实验结果表明,该方法可获得小于ldB的接续损耗.
A new method for reducing the splice loss of erbium doped fiber (EDF) and single mode fiber (SMF) in erbium doped fiber amplifiers is reported. Using the method of tapering the end of the erbium-doped fiber with a smaller diameter in the core region, the propagation mode field in the erbium-doped fiber is diffused in the conical region so as to be well matched with the large-diameter eigenmode field in the single-mode fiber , To achieve low-loss connection. Preliminary experimental results show that the method can obtain less than ldB splice loss.
