一九七九年至一九八○年间,在蛟河县幅区域地质调查土作中,我们对前人争议较大的中生代蛟河煤盆地的构造形态进行了较详细的野外调查,并在分析钻孔资材的基础上,认为该盆地为一不对称的向斜构造。盆地形成机制是由于区内北北东向,北东向和北西向三组扭(压扭)性断层的互相交截,在盆地发育初期呈楔形岩块下降,出现凹陷而形成。蛟河盆地西缘断裂~生产单位习惯称之为“河西断裂”,实际上是盆地形成之前
