近年来,随着炼铁技术发展,高炉焦比降低,高炉煤气发热值和发生量都逐渐降低,而钢铁企业规模越来越大,企业自产煤气缺额逐渐增加,因而重油和天然气耗用量逐年增加.如1980年鞍钢自产煤气只能满足56.7%,外购重油和天然气占43.3%.国家能源政策要求大力压缩重油和天然气用量.因而以煤代油和天然气,解决钢铁企业流体燃料不足,已成为迫切需要解决的重要问题.据报道,日本京浜制铁厂为了减少石油用量,以煤代油,采取提高高炉焦比,增加高炉煤气发生量,使全公司总能耗中油的比例由13.43%减少到5.66%,而煤的比例由82.72%升高到92.56%,全公司能源成本约降低10%.
