Ar-39Ar isotopic dating of a potash feldspar sample separated from mylonites in Balihan ductile shear belt of the eastern Inner-Mongolia has been carried out and gives a spectrum age of 228Ma and an isochron age of 227Ma. The results indicate that there exist arcuate structural deformational belts in the transitional stage of the tectonic transforming from Pre-Mesozoic Paleo-Asian domain to the Late Mesozoic Pacific domain. The ages of good quality in this paper will provide a new constraint on the Phanerozoic tectonic evolution of the North China craton.
