花菜又名花椰菜,在我国已有悠久的栽培历史。新鲜花菜含蛋白质1.6%、脂肪0.8%、碳水化合物5%、矿物质0.8%,每斤花球的含热量为172卡,是一个营养价值很高的蔬菜品种。我省温州地区有许多优良品种,这些品种花球发达、洁白肥嫩、食之鲜美。这主要是由于温州地区的花菜农家长期严格选育,不断提纯复壮的结果。近年又选育出了不少优质、高产、熟期适中的优良品种。由于他们选育的措施严密,代价很大,虽然价格较高,但仍然为省内外菜农竞相购卖种植。
