人们在交际活动中,无论是言语的或是非言语的,都不可避免地会遇到因时间观念差异造成的交际失误。时间观念是文化结构的一部分,不同文化背景的人的时间观念有着明显的差异。本文对东西方文化的时间观念进行了比较,并提出了外语教学应注重跨文化交际能力的培养。教师应帮助学生了解和观察中西文化的时间观差异,避免失误,从而取得跨文化交际的成功。
People in communication activities, whether verbal or non-verbal, inevitably encounter communication errors caused by differences in the concept of time. The notion of time is part of the cultural structure. There are obvious differences in the concept of time among people of different cultural backgrounds. This paper compares the concept of time in Eastern and Western cultures and proposes that foreign language teaching should focus on the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence. Teachers should help students understand and observe the difference in time between Chinese and Western cultures, avoid mistakes, and thus achieve success in cross-cultural communication.
