The cytogenetic changes that occurred during malignant transformation, the latest advances in the research are to clarify the chromosome location of the genes involved. In this respect, it is known that different malignant tumors involve different genes, and several marker chromosomes that have specificity for specific cancers have already been discovered, such as the Ph chromosome in chronic myelogenous leukemia, and in Burkitt’s lymphoma. 14q~+ and 3p~- in small cell lung cancer. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore and describe the characteristics of various cancers, particularly other marker chromosomes in hematogenous tumors and other solid tumors. Recent studies in our laboratory suggest that there are similar and possibly identical marker chromosomes in cancers (and sarcomas) originating from several sites, which are central centromeres.
