英语教师是边远地区学生英语学习的主要信息输入来源。英语教师专业素质是否合格对于英语教学关系重大,除了讨论英语教师的素质问题外,本文作者依据专家建议的20个问卷问题,对云南省大理州弥渡县的英语教师进行了普遍性的问卷调查,共收到分布在该县不同类型学校的65名英语教师的答卷,约占英语教师总数的64%。调查的最终数据揭露了该地区英语教师在专业素质上存在的一系列问题。如:现代多媒体手段辅助教学的范围狭小;语法翻译占主流;缺少必要的英语文化及语言学理论知识等。
English teachers are the main source of information for English learning in remote areas. In addition to discussing the quality of English teachers, the author conducted a general survey of English teachers in Midu County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province on the basis of 20 questionnaires proposed by experts. A total of 65 English teachers distributed in different types of schools in the county received about 64% of the total number of English teachers. The final data of the survey revealed a series of problems existing in the professional quality of English teachers in the region. Such as: the scope of modern multimedia teaching assistance is limited; grammar translation mainstream; lack of necessary knowledge of English culture and linguistics theory.
