Objective To understand the health status of gas station workers and explore the impact of exposure to gasoline and benzene on the health of workers. Methods Petrol and benzene concentrations in the air of petrol stations were tested, and 347 petrol station workers were inspected for their health. Results Gasoline and benzene concentrations in the air of the stations were much lower than the occupational exposure limits. The gas station workers had abnormal blood pressure, blood abnormalities, abnormal urinalysis, abnormal electrocardiogram and abnormal liver and spleen B rates of 3.2% 16.1%, 3.2%, 5.5% and 29.7% respectively. The detection rate of hypertension and liver-spleen B-ultrasound abnormalities increased with age (P <0.05) In women (P <0.05). Conclusion The blood routine abnormalities of workers in gas stations in the city and the detection rate of B-mode abnormalities in liver and spleen are higher. Gas station workers should be regularly monitored for occupational health and occupational hazards.
