采用光束传播法(BPM)获取一种全新的基于非对称Y分光单元的多模光功率分配器设计。针对光能量在多模传输波导中分布不均的特点,引入了基于圆弧结构的非对称结构,从而实现了对波导中能量的平均分配。通过对各设计参数与输出功率的关联分析,导出了一系列同多模功率分配器结构相关的公式。以此为基础确定了分别对应于62.5μm,120μm波导宽度的1×4,1×8多模光功率分配器的结构及具体参数。其器件长度分别为7.6 mm,21.7 mm。理论计算表明此两种器件在1.31μm窗口具有极为均匀的分光性,对应的插入损耗为6.05 dB及9.06 dB,器件的偏振相关损耗大约在0.2 dB。
A New Design of Multimode Optical Power Splitter Based on Asymmetric Y-Beam Splitter with Beam Propagation Method (BPM). Due to the uneven distribution of light energy in the multimode transmission waveguide, an asymmetrical structure based on a circular arc structure is introduced to achieve an even distribution of energy in the waveguide. Through the correlation analysis of each design parameter and output power, a series of formulas related to the structure of multi-mode power divider are derived. Based on this, the structures and specific parameters of 1 × 4, 1 × 8 multimode optical power splitters corresponding to 62.5μm and 120μm waveguide widths were respectively determined. The device lengths are 7.6 mm and 21.7 mm respectively. The theoretical calculations show that the two devices have very uniform spectral distribution in the 1.31μm window with corresponding insertion loss of 6.05dB and 9.06dB, and the polarization dependent loss of the device is about 0.2dB.
