This paper details the modern monographs on the simulation of roller traction drive CVTs. The CVTs work is reviewed by comparing the small contact areas. The design and kinematics of the introduced examples are investigated. The factors affecting the design optimization are investigated. The properties of the traction contact are studied in detail. Particular attention is paid to the elastic fluid lubrication and poor contact conditions. Check the coefficient of influence of the traction coefficient and the basis of empirical predictions and comparison of modern calculations, finally taking into account the measurement of the fluid traction rheology, leading to the determination and development of the ideal characteristics of the special fluid.
