为评价无牙颌上颌骨骨质丧失情况,介绍一项改进的头测量分析技术,这项技术包括检查无牙颌头侧位X线像,识别新的标志和测量上颌真实的垂直和水平距离.对比测量患者初诊和复诊时的X线像,确定两次检查时骨质丧失的情况. 其方法是,首先拍摄患者初诊时的基础侧位头像,在适当的时间,如初诊后1～2年,再拍摄复诊像.放射学技术方面必须是标准化的,复诊像必须以与初诊像同样的设备、头位、曝光时间,以及处理设备和技术,以保证照片的可重复性.
