To examine the relationship between life events, self-disclosure and internet addiction among college students and to examine the impact of self-disclosure on the relationship between the two. The study investigated 875 undergraduates using the ASLEC, DDI and IADS. The results showed that there were significant differences in Internet addiction among college students in terms of gender, major and grade. Life events had a significant positive predictive effect on Internet addiction, and self-disclosure had a significant negative predictive effect on Internet addiction. There is a significant regulatory effect on the relationship with internet addiction, which is weak when self-disclosure is high. Improving the level of self-disclosure of college students helps to reduce the negative impact of life events on Internet addiction.
