Field Feasibility Tests It is almost impossible to predict how a particular reservoir responds to polymer injection. In general, field injection testing is required. The economics of many projects are severely affected by polymer injection rates. Since the polymer solution is more viscous than water, the wellhead pressure must be raised to maintain a comparable flow rate. When the pressure reaches the maximum injection pressure, the injection rate will decrease accordingly. Production from polymer production may be greatly delayed by a drop in the injection rate of the field. Data should be collected for all stages of injection into the trial to allow subsequent full-field polymer flooding projects. Therefore, in addition to the well pressure data and injection rate,
