1. Intrinsic Transistor Field-effect transistors differ from the typical (two-junction: PNP or NPN) transistors. In the first approximation, they work on a minority carrier in the crystal; for this reason they are called Unipolar transistor. (In the transistor structure with two junctions, the minority carriers are at least as important as the majority carriers, then these transistors are called bipolar).
