The early Northern Song Dynasty poetry was deeply influenced by the Tang style, individual poets such as Wang Yu 诗 poetry showed more prominent political connotation. During this period, the political and religious awareness of poetry did not stand out; the poet’s general awareness of political participation was weak. The overall content of politics can not compare with the late period. During this period, there is no clear sense of group and no common political views and opinions. Only individual poets dare to positively criticize the gains and losses of political parties, and they are more sarcastic and satirical. This article takes Wang Yuyi’s poetry as the research center to see the relationship between poetry and politics in the early Northern Song Dynasty.
