据报导,韩国按DeBeers公司专利生产的人造金刚石的数量和需求量正迅速增加.在1985～1991年期间,人造金刚石的需求量增加了4倍,达2700万克拉(1990年为2500万克拉).在韩国从事金刚石制造的公司达80家,其中两家最大的公司——Ewha Diamond Industries 和Shinhan Diamond Industrial占国内市场金刚石供应总量的70%.在韩国人造金刚石的主要使用部门是石料加工业和建筑业(达 80%)、汽车工业(达6%)、透镜和玻璃加工业(达5%),其余为其他工业部门,其中包括刀具制造业用的聚晶金刚石.
According to reports, the quantity and demand of synthetic diamonds produced by Korea under the De Beers Corporation’s patents are increasing rapidly. During 1985-1991, the demand for synthetic diamonds increased four-fold to 27 million carats (25 million carats in 1990). There are 80 diamond manufacturing companies in South Korea. Two of the largest companies, Ewha Diamond Industries and Shinhan Diamond Industrial, account for 70% of the total supply of diamonds in the domestic market. The main use of diamond in South Korea is in the stone processing industry. And construction industry (up to 80%), automotive industry (up to 6%), lens and glass processing industry (up to 5%), and the rest for other industrial sectors, including polycrystalline diamond for tool manufacturing.
