清水江流域是我国西南的重要林区。经明清以来的开发逐步形成了独特的区域林业及其经济模式,其主要特点:一是杉松种植、买卖为主的林业资源和经济传统;二是“人工育林”的种植模式;三是林粮间作和多元经营互补的生产方式;四是林木买卖的内外市场互动形成支撑的经济结构;五是林业资源的有效流转和社会中介服务的广泛形成。清水江流域传统林业模式具有生态经济性质和价值,主要表现为:一是林业经济活动具有“经济资源生态化”的特征和维持生态资源增长的机制;二是“人工育林”的种植和经营模式具有生态—经济互动的双重循环结构和功能;三是林粮间作及其蕴涵的经济补充生产方式具有生态经济的生计形态;四是林业资源要素的市场化和生态资源随同流转以及形成增值环节,减弱林业经营的生态破坏;五是林业生态经济生产使相应的生态文化观、价值观和生活习俗的形成并发挥生态保护作用。
