The author discusses some changes and progress made in the design and construction of hydropower projects in recent years and can only make some progress at a time. However, the new ideas have to be carefully examined and investigated before they are adopted. Because if mistakes, you may have to pay an expensive price, sometimes even catastrophic. However, the development was driven by the need to develop very difficult dam sites that were once considered too expensive or complex to develop. According to recent and past World Energy Council statistics, there has been a clear and steady increase in the installed capacity of hydroelectric power in the past two decades. According to the statistics of 31 countries or regions (Figure 1), the annual growth rate is 10.4 million kilowatts. Table 1 is based on the information provided by the Committee and includes the number of capacity installations in 42 countries or regions that have been under construction and planned for installation from 1978 to 1982.
