上世纪40年代,一个刚刚中学毕业的小伙子来到美国密歇根州的一家机床公司做销售员,同事们都觉得这个“小鬼头”年纪太轻,肯定不会取得什么成就,做不到两个月就会被公司解雇。小伙子的成绩确实非常不理想,虽然他每天早出晚归,但是整整两个月下来,他才卖掉了5台机床,连基本任务都没有完成。经理警告他,如果下个月不能卖出8台机床将解雇他,小伙子却信心十足地笑着说:“请相信我,下个月我最起码能卖出20台!”“20台?凭什么!”同事们都在背地里嘲笑小伙子是个吹牛大王,经理也没太当真,只是出于再给他一个机会的心态,让他试试。
In the 1940s, a young man who had just graduated from high school came to the sales of a machine tool company in Michigan, and all of his colleagues thought that this “little devil’s head” was too young to make any accomplishments and could not do it. Months will be fired by the company.
