北京的胡同、四合院与上海的石库门老房以及后来发展起来的老洋房,都是承载历史与文化,展现城市特色与品位的老式民居建筑及老街区。今天,人们不约而同地关注起这些老房子老街区了,常会感伤它们被现代化的高楼大厦日益蚕食的命运,从而更加留恋昔日的风景,同时也在积极思考它们所承载的历史价值与人文意义等。于是,关于老房的保存与改造问题,便一时间成为京沪两地关注的焦点。以保护历史与文化为己任的老房子、老街区改造,已同时在两地开展起来。北京与上海的建筑师们通过对老房采取保护性的改造,使原建筑及街区的独特形态尽量予以保留,也使其中特定的历史氛围得以再现。更突出的是,其中还融入了人与自然和谐相处的哲学思想。北京与上海的老房及街区改造,也在一定程度上激活了地块与房产的使用功能及经济价值。但由于
