潘天寿的作品中有不少题材相同、构图相似的变体画。这些内容、题材之所以被潘天寿一画再画,必定和他作画的背景,尤其是他当时的思想状态有关。遗憾的是,这方面的文字资料所剩无几,不便作过多臆测。下面仅根据我对潘天寿艺术的认识与理解,以及个人的作画经验,谈谈潘天寿变体画创作的几种情况,并对其原因略作分析。一、感触与寄托潘天寿之所以有这么多变体画,最根本的原因是他对某些内容、某些场景深有感触。例如1956年清明节,潘天寿游览绍兴龙山,寻访越王台,感触极深,写下“卧薪霸业久尘埃,谁向龙山拄杖来。唯有无边春草色,依然绿上越

The following only based on my understanding of Pan Tianshou art and understanding, as well as personal experience in painting, talk about Pan Tianshou variant paintings of several situations, and the reasons for a little analysis.
