Glamour Glossary
By Mitchell Kelly
One of the best ways to express yourself is through your wardrobe. And because everyone is different, there are just as many different clothing styles and just as many fascinating words to go with them.
In the world of high-fashion, one of the hottest words to look for is “edgy [潮爆的].” This means something is sharp, bold and innovative e.g. The winter collection was very edgy.
Other interesting English words pop up when taking a closer look at different fashion styles.
Goth[哥特式的]: Short for “gothic,” this style uses very dark colors to create a somber, almost creepy, mood.
Vintage[复古的]: This style draws on trends from the past to give a very fresh, romantic feel.
France is one of the world’s fashion capitals, so it is no surprise that a lot of French fashion vocabulary has entered the English language. Here is a quick lesson:
Your look is very chic [时髦别致的]= You look stylish
Green is in vogue[流行的,风行的] this season = Green is a very fashionable color at the moment
This jacket is faux [人造的,假的]fur = It is made from fake fur
Her choice of outfit is a big fashion faux pas [失礼]= She made a mistake with her outfit
A big part of fashion is commenting on trends. If you are unsure how to compliment a friend or designer, a poll of online voters shows that “stunning[极漂亮的,令人晕倒的]” is the best word to use when describing an outfit. But there are plenty more to choose from: funky, fresh, trendy, sexy, breathtaking.
Whichever way you choose to express yourself through fashion, chances are the English language has just the right word to describe it—if not, it’s bound to be created soon.

P7 In order to grow, I must stretch beyond my comfort zone.

P80 It started in around 1965 by a dedicated and intensified man called Bruce Lee.
NO.3
P6 In this life I need to make my own magic, I must teach myself what I need to know.

May God bless her!
NO.5
P4 Who can tell me if we have heaven?
NO.6
NO.7
P7 Change will come only when I completely accept how things are.
NO.8
P11 That’s not love, Jacks…That’s the flu.
NO.9
NO.10
