文化遗产自身的信息是静态的、直观的,其数字化阐释内容是动态的、多样化的、阐释性的、非线性的、互动的。增强现实技术将遗产本体与其数字化阐释内容有机的融合在一起,充分发挥各自的优势。在几乎完全不干扰遗产的前提下,提供了更加丰富,精彩和互动的阐释信息。这些信息的叠加并没有割裂与遗产及所在环境的联系,反而加强了虚拟数字信息与真实环境之间的时间与空间关联。国际上对文化遗产展示中的AR技术应用研究,大多还是基于特定案例的技术实现和经验性研究。需要更多交叉学科的研究团队投入该研究,在分析不同类型文化遗产特点的基础上,有针对性的开展应用研究,并且在应用过程中不断总结与内容策划、信息设计、体验设计、数据标准与管理、评估方法等相关的规律与经验,则经验型的研究可能会产生系统的方法理论体系。
