Book contract with the publishing contract reform, commodity economy and peer development, and gradually attracted people’s attention. In order to compete for a good manuscript, several publishers have negotiated the terms with one of the publishers for their actions, activities and manuscripts. Both parties urgently need to reach a legally binding agreement by signing a book Draft the contract, determine the rights and obligations of both parties, thus ending the fight for this manuscript. At present, the contract of a book is generally an agreement reached by the editor in charge (hereinafter referred to as the contractual drafters and actually the representative publishing house) on how to complete the manuscript after the selection of the topic is completed. The main contents are as follows: The number of manuscripts, the date of submission, the initial standard of royalties, the basic requirements of manuscripts on manuscripts, the time of manuscript reviewers, the processing of rejected manuscripts and so on. On the basis of this pilot project, Hunan Education Press fully implemented the book contract in 1988. After a year of practice, it also played a good role in editing.
