Square wave jerk (S WJ) is a fast, back and forth, glancing motion, forming a distance wave. There are different amplitude, frequency and width, no slow phase. Most authors think that if WJ is a pathological sign of open-eye recording, SJ is a pathologic sign of instability, suggestive of central (usually cerebellar) damage that is caused by uncontrolled loss of cerebellum saccade normally controlled by the cerebellum. However, SWJ is a very common phenomenon in vestibular experiments. Even in the case of open eye fixation, such Nystagmus is not necessarily accompanied by central lesions. This article studies SWJ frequency, characteristics and significance. The nystagmography of 429 patients with dizziness and instability was reviewed. Determine the temperature change reaction results to slow phase velocity calculation: C P value ≥ 20%, DP value ≥ 30%. Unilateral paralysis and / or paroxysmal nystagmus (with latent period, fatigue, and vertigo) are peripheral vestibular lesions. There are vertical nystagmus (eyes open) and / or visual inspection
