Internet2 (I2) is touted as the greatest infrastructure for the benefit of humanity. But let’s see what exactly it is: it’s actually an excuse for government agencies and educational facilities to spend more money to upgrade their networks. Getting MIT and Stanford scientists working together with a flexible network will benefit society as a whole. However, it is difficult to estimate the price of improving the existing Internet.
