Why Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina are called “Muslims”? Generally, Muslims are religious concepts and refer to Islamists in general. Therefore, it is true that the Muslims in general should not be regarded as one nation. However, Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the former Slavics have their own special circumstances that can not be generalized. The ancestors of Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina were the southern Slavs who moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 6th and 6th centuries, mainly Serbs and Croats. Persons who had been Christians of the “Bogdanil” sect, who were considered pagans by the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church, were often persecuted. Because of this, they converted to Islam when the Ottoman Empire imposed “Islamization” after it seized Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 14th-15th centuries.
