榆木山是河西走廊张掖盆地与酒泉盆地之间的一个隆起。榆木山东缘断裂沿该山东部边缘展布，为走向近北西、倾向南酉的逆断层。沿断裂多处见到古生代地层逆冲到第三系和第四系之上，造成地貌面的错断变形和冲沟的右旋水平错位等现象。在黑河口，该断层将黑河第3级阶地的后缘水平 Elm Hill is a uplift between the Zhangye basin and the Jiuquan basin in the Hexi Corridor. The eastern margin of Elm Mountain is distributed along the margin of the eastern part of the mountain. It is an inverse fault that runs toward the northwest and south of the country. Paleozoic stratigraphic thrusts were seen along the fault to the Tertiary and Quaternary strata, resulting in erroneous deformation of the geomorphic surface and horizontal dextral displacement of the gully. At the Heihe Estuary, the fault raised the trailing edge of the 3rd terrace of the Heihe River
