大城古都是泰国第二个王朝的古都,其文化、艺术、国际贸易曾非常发达。据中国史书记载:明永乐六年(1408年)航海家郑和第二次下西洋时,曾率船队沿湄南河而上访问过大城。直到明清时期,中国商船络绎不绝地抵达暹罗,两国贸易交往频繁,许多华人移居大城并在此形成华人居住区。如今的大城因遭受过缅甸军的纵火而被彻底破坏,成为一片废墟,只剩下部份宫殿遗迹、珍贵佛像和精美雕刻等供人瞻仰。
The ancient capital of Ayutthaya is the ancient capital of Thailand’s second dynasty and its culture, art and international trade have been well developed. Until the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chinese merchant ships arrived Siam in an endless stream, with frequent trade exchanges between the two countries. Many Chinese emigrated to the Great Wall and formed Chinese settlements there. The present-day Ayutthaya has been completely destroyed by the arson caused by Burmese military atrocities, leaving it in ruins, leaving only part of the remains of palaces, precious statues and exquisite carvings for admiration.
