Objective: To focus on lymph node metastasis and survival evaluation of pancreatic head cancer from Mainland China.Methods: This study involved 152 patients of pancreatic head cancer and underwent radical resection with identified lymph nodes by using a surgical microscopy method.Results: A total of 5,790 lymph nodes were retrieved from 152patients using surgical microscopy method; 38 lymph nodes per patient.A total of 101 (66.4％) patients were confirmed with lymph node metastasis pathologically, and Nos.12, 13,14, 16, and 17 lymph node groups were involved.Only tumor differentiation was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis.The 1-, 3-,and5-year overall survival rates of the 139followed-up patients were 70.5％, 28.4％, and 20.9％, respectively.Lymph node status and tumor size were identified by two independent prognostic factors.
