  To achieve lower fuel consumption and pollutant emission,the technology of turbocharging and gasoline direct injection(TGDI)are two of the key technologies for gasoline engine.This paper describes the FAW 1.4L gasoline direct injection and turbo-charged engine(CA4GB14TD),that achieves lower fuel consumption and a good balance of high dynamic performance,and compli-ance with China 5 emission regulations.Main technologies applied to this engine are turbocharger with electric controlled pneumatic waste gate valve and air bypass valve(ABV),direct fuel injection system with up to 15 MPa pressure,high tumble intake port and high effi-ciency combustion system,intake and exhaust variable valve timing system,exhaust manifold integrated turbine house.
