  In recent years,the global economy has shifted markedly in emerging markets.In Taiwan,small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs),play a very significant role in the country’s economic growth,accounting for almost 98% of overall enterprises and employing nearly 78% of all Taiwanese employees.However,SMEs still have to overcome resource limitations and barriers to the internationalization process.The purpose of this study,therefore,was to empirically examine the impact of social networks of individual contacts,and alliances on international performance of Taiwanese manufacturing SMEs,in addition to critically reviewing the gaps between existing theoretical literature and current findings.Additionally,the present study aimed to integrate and highlight four theories: (1) social capital theory,(2) social network theory,(3) internationalization theory,and (4) resource-based theory.Data were collected from 365 Taiwanese SME business owners or managers and were analyzed by multiple regression to test hypotheses.Having alliances was found to be related to an SME’s international performance.In particular,international alliances were found to be related to greater performance than domestic alliances.

通过探讨渠道中经销商结果控制与过程控制对厂商角色绩效的作用。研究结果发现:经销商结果控制与厂商绩效之间的关系呈倒U型,经销商过程控制与厂商绩效之间的关系呈U型,而经销商结果控制与过程控制的交互作用会促进厂商角色绩效。而社会互动与关系规范从私人层面与组织层面对经销商结果控制与过程控制起着完全不同的作用。研究结论加深了对结果控制与过程控制的认识,同时对企业实践具有重要指导意义。
