NO/cGMP signalling is essential for regulation of cardiovascular functions including blood pressure regulation and platelct activation.Several signalling pathways ofcGKI exist including interaction of the cGKI*3f*3fisozyme with inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor Ⅰ (IP3RI) associated protein cGMP kinase substrate (IRAG).To get insight into the function of the IRAG protein a knockout mutant was generated by targeted deletion.Expression of other cGKI substrate proteins in mutant smooth muscle tissues and platelets were not affected upon IRAG deletion.
