MESP1 is an important transcription factor that regulates heart development and is expressed transiently during early stage of cardiovascular differentiation in mouse and other model systems.To better understand its function during human cardiovascular differentiation,we generated a MESP1 reporter human embryonic stem cell line through transcription activator-like effector nuclease (TALEN) mediated homologous recombination.MESP1 reporter cells faithfully recapitulated the expression of endogenous MESP1 gene and displayed interesting dynamic gene expression pattern.
