Organotin(Ⅳ) carboxylates have attracted much attention owing to their potential biocidal activities and cytotoxicities as well as their industrial and agricultural applications[1,2].A complex,(ph3Sn)2L (H2L =2,3-pyrazinedicarboxylic acid),has been synthesized in CH3OH by the reaction of ph3SnCl and H2L.The complex was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, elementary analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure is Monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c,with a =17.297(4) (A),b =19.510(4) (A),c =11.170(2)(A),α =90 (3)°,β =94.815(3) °,γ.=90 °,V =3756.4(13) (A)3,Z =4,Dcalc=1.531 Mg/m3,F(000) =1720,R1 =0.0420,wR2 =0.0569.The two tin atoms in Fig.1.possess different coordination environment. There are two distinc.coordinate Carboxyl groups, one is monodentate and the other is didentate, which make the overall configurations at tin are distorted tetrahedral and distorted trigonal bipyramidal. The 1 D zigzag chain is formed by intermolecular C-H…O hydrogen bonds.
