The conversion of carbon dioxide(CO2) into valuable chemicals has received much attention in recent years not only because CO2 is one of the major anthropogenic greenhouse gas but also because it has been regarded as an abundant,nontoxic,and renewable C1 feedstock.Herein,we have developed a novel three-component coupling reaction of CO2,amines,and diaryliondonium salts.The reaction employs easily available feedstocks and only requires an organic base as the promoter,providing a practical and general route for the synthesis of a wide range of O-aryl carbamates in moderate to high yieldswith excellent chemoselectivity.
