  OBJECTIVE To evaluate the anti-seizure effect of magnolol and mechanisms involved.METHODS Mice were treated with magnolol 20, 40 and 80 mg· kg-1 before pentyle netetrazol (PTZ) 60 mg·kg-1, ip injection for 30 min.The an ti-seizure effects of magnolol were analyzed using seizure models of behaviour, electroencephalographic (EEG) and in vitro elec trophysiology, and c-Fos expression in the hippocampus and cor tex.
