  53 bacteria were isolated from Pinellia ternate and 23 of them were identified by 16S rRNA sequencing.The isolates in this study can be classified into 7 genera with Bacillus as the predominant genus.The identified bacteria were selected to carry out the plant growth promoting screening by evaluating the capacity of nitrogen fixation,phosphate solubilization and produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA),siderophore,1-aminocyclopropane-l-carboxylic acid (ACC) deaminase and extracellular enzymes.10 of the potential plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) with a comprehensive plant growth promoting activity were selected to evaluate the wheat growth promoting ability in plate,and 4 wheat growth promoting bacteria were selected for further study in the pot.The result indicated that bacteria PtB01 and PtB24 could successfully colonize in the root of wheat,especially that wheat seedling growth was significantly promoted after inoculating with the above mentioned two isolates.These results suggest that PtB01 and PtB24 could successfully colonize and promote the growth of agricultural wheat.
