  Gold nanorods possess excellent optical,electronic, catalytic, and sensing properties.An example is that they could be employed as conductive lines in nanoelectronics if they are well-aligned in a controllable manner.In this work, we report on the controllable alignment of gold nanorods using a vacuum-assisted templating technique.The high resolution linear structure of single gold nanorods will be presented.The gold nanorods were synthesized via a three-step seed-mediated method and then purified through a centrifugation process.
