DelfMEMS has developed a unique portfolio of patents surrounding MEMS and MEMS-based subsystems.The company offers a new generation of RF silicon switches & sub-systems that is broadband,highly linear,reliable for hot and cold switching,switches very fast,requires low actuation voltage and can be post-processed above or integrated monolithically with passive devices.DelfMEMS has solved the issues encountered with existing MEMS technologies,such as low reliability,high actuation voltage and limited integration.Three industries face huge challenges and require highly linear and broadband switches: 1.Wireless handsets (Front End Manufacturers): Devices that offer high linearity and high RF performance enable the tunability of multi-mode multi-band handsets in order to reduce the bill of materials and power consumption while optimizing RF performance.The increasing number of modes and bands and the upcoming LTE-4G raise the Bill of materials and power consumption to the point that the module manufacturers face a substantial challenge concerning the front-end architecture.They therefore require a key building block that enhances impedance matching and frequency tunability of antennas,power amplifiers and filters.2.Defense/Space: Highly linear and broadband MEMS switches are increasingly required in systems such as step attenuators and phase shifters for steerable radar antenna.Such switches also enable tranceiver agility of multimode-multiband radio,namely frequency tuning and impedance matching of band-stop filters,power amplifiers and antennas.3.Electronic test and instrumentation: This industry faces huge demand for switches as the number of devices under test and their complexity increase (System On Chip,Systems in Package).It is also compelled to improve productivity as testing represents 25 t0 30% of the production cost of an electronic device.As a differentiation criterion,DelfMEMS develops a highly flexible technology platform that effectively addresses the demand in the consumer electronics market for high volume applications.
