PURPOSE:To investigate the immunoregulatory role of corneal epithelium-derived Thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) in dry eye disease (DED).METHODS:Acute DED was induced by exposing 6-to 8-week-old female C57BL/6mice to a controlled environment chamber (CEC) for 7 or 14 days.Chronic DED was induced by transferring acute DED mice to a standard vivarium for additional 14days.
