一方面,同步辐射包括高能X射线衍射与微束衍射在内的新技术,具有高通量、高穿透性、高三维实空间及倒易空间分辨等特点,被成功应用于工程材料的微观力学行为研究,特别是原位准确定量表征形变过程中金属结构与微结构演化;另一方面,中子由于具有高穿透能力,可以穿透几毫米到几十毫米的金属材料,因此中子衍射技术也已经被成功应用于大型设备(如飞机、航天飞行器等)关键部件的服役行为评估.事实上结合同步辐射与中子衍射测量获取的结构材料形变过程中点阵应变(lattice strain)分布数据,通过微观力学模拟给出跨越微米到毫米应力分布的定量信息及晶体取向(织构)演化规律.
