  Damping materials are refered to a kind of materials that have special dissipation ability to noise and vibration.Viscoelastic polymers as damping materials have attracted considerable attention both in academia and industry, due to their outstanding properties for suppressing vibration and noise by the relaxations of glass transition and terminal modes.As good damping materials should have the loss tangent (tan) values higher than 0.3 for a temperature range of at least 60 ℃C 1 However, the viscoelastic polymers usually have a narrow range of glass-rubber transition and terminal relaxation which are far from the room temperature, obstructing further application as damping materials.Much effort has been made to enhance the magnitude of tan and control the effective damping position to locate in the required temperature region, such as miscible blends,interpenetrating networks, introduction of the dangling chains,2 adding plasticizers and fillers, and so on.
